This website includes a great deal of information and discussion about using the Internet with younger children. It also includes a comprehensive index to many websites in groupings of special interest for children. A number of sites offer ideas and projects suitable for the younger classes. Older children will enjoy visiting them also.

Enchanted Learning - A plethora of great sites for the younger set. Lots of dinosaur activities; learn nursery rhymes. Work in English, English-French or English-Spanish. Has "Safe for Kids Site of the Week" area as well. Go to "Little Explorer" area and get into a picture dictionary with links to 500 educational activities and games. 

Etch-a-Sketch site - Draw pictures and play games at the official site for the Etch-a-Sketch.

First Grade Back Packer - Excellent site for things that first graders can do.

4 Kids - A great site to get kids started on all sorts of cross curricular investigations. Great for kids grades K-6.

FunBrain - A great place with wonderful educational games to play. For this age group click on the area for ages 7-10.

Fun School - A wonderful site that starts on a Home Page where you can pick activities for preschool, Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade. They also have an area for kids in grades 3-6.

Zany Brainy - A few activities here, however, this is a good site where you can buy educational and developmentally appropriate toys by clicking on the age of the child. At first perusal the prices looked very good.
